Citra is a design studio rooted in place, atmosphere, and ritual. Founded by longtime collaborators Rachel Gant and Andrew Deming—the duo behind YIELD—our work moves fluidly between objects, interiors, and the built environment. We approach design as a quiet form of care: creating things meant to be kept, lived with, and returned to.
Citra encompasses a growing body of work—spaces, objects, and soon, a collection of sensory-driven goods for daily life. Our work has been featured in The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Wallpaper, & Dwell, and honored by Sight Unseen’s American Design Hot List, The Dieline Awards, the German Design Award, and more.
Citra works across disciplines to shape enduring experiences and environments. Our practice encompasses:
Residential & Commercial Design — Architecture, interiors, and custom furnishings that balance proportion, atmosphere, and longevity.
Hospitality — From concept to operation, we create spaces where design, service, and community converge.
Products & Fragrance — Perfumes, apothecary goods, and select objects that bring Citra's sensibility into daily life.
Stewardship — Long-term care and evolution of our spaces, ensuring they grow richer with time and use.
Rachel Gant, Co-Founder
Rachel is an industrial designer with roots in architecture and an instinct for how spaces, objects, and experiences work together as a whole. She studied architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and earned her degree in industrial design from CCA in San Francisco. For over a decade, she led YIELD as the creative force behind every product, from initial concept to final sourcing. Her work is defined by a sensitivity to form, material, and atmosphere—creating designs that feel inevitable, as if they have always belonged. Equally comfortable zooming out to the big picture or diving deep into the smallest operational detail, she often balances creative vision with the hands-on realities of sourcing, production, and logistics.
Andrew Deming, Co-Founder
Andrew is a designer, entrepreneur, and creative strategist with a background in graphic design and an MBA in Design Strategy. He brings a rare blend of vision and execution, moving fluidly between big-picture brand building and the fine details of craft. If Rachel is the meticulous precisionist, Andrew is the driver—the one pushing ideas into action. His work spans the full arc of a project: defining strategy, spotting opportunity, shaping goals, and then wrapping the finished product in brand, packaging, and marketing. On spatial projects, he’s part designer, part general contractor—overseeing procurement, design, and implementation with an eye for both aesthetics and durability.
